Hiroshima

63 years ago, an atomic bomb exploded right over this building.  There's a whole lot more to this town than just the A-bomb incident.

at Hiroshima Animation Festival

in Tokyo

I took this photo at the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo.  Small and crowded yet also a well designed space that won't overload the senses.

Noobie T-shirts at NoobieLand.com

By somewhat popular request, Noobies and Skyvu Pictures T-shirts are
now available online at NoobieLand.com, a website for a short animated film I made in my dorm room at CalArts.

First Draft complete!

After three years of research, structuring, character development, and
more research, I finally finished the first draft for my next film. I
came up with this concept while still at CalArts, developed it more
while in Portland, started writing in Asia but stopped in order to re-
work the characters and structure, then finally wrapped up the writing here in Omaha. It took about six uninterrupted weeks for me to finish 81 pages. I predict it'll be around 90 pages after the re-writes. My friend was right when he quoted another writer that said, "Getting the first draft done is like puking your guts out. It hurts at first but you'll feel a whole lot better afterwards."

studio update

Almost ready to head back to the States for a much-needed break from the studio.  Things are finally up and running and the initial previz team (pictured above) is doing great.
